Run Away
Allan Jackson is a person who I look up to. A person who I listen to with anticipation of his next bit of wisdom … and he’s shared a lot of it. I don’t agree with all of his theology, but he seems to want to accurately share God’s truths. That’s why I admire him. He’s recognized some of the churchianity that so many of us were engaged in prior to covid. I hope that he continues on that path until all of the churchianity is eradicated. He has a long way to go to get there.
His weakness, as usual, is his mental strength. It’s often the source that our adversary uses when good men like him choose to follow Jesus. Allan is so smart and so wise that it’s created an opportunity for our adversary to foster a false humility, a blind spot. A blind spot of the last vestiges of pride that insidiously hide in a man of his mental caliper.
I’ll give you one example.
Recently he told his congregation, and all who are tuning in, that when he meets someone who says they know when Jesus will return, that he respectfully turns around and sprints away. Indeed. Since he can’t know when Jesus is returning … no one can. See the problem? To be fair, the adversary tricked him with dozens of “boys crying wolf”. All of them egomaniacs … at best. The logical conclusion is in fact to run away from such egomaniacs. I agree. But some people can know when He’s highly likely to return. In fact, I suspect that at least 144,000 do know. Think about it?
Almost 2,000 years ago, Jesus said that not even He knew the day or the hour. Indeed. At that time, it would have been very difficult to predict. The so-called church had not yet formulized the days each year that they would celebrate Passover, easter, and assentation day. Hint, hint.
After those words from Jesus, God apparently gave Paul some end time insights that no others had, perhaps not even His remaining 11. Then just over 60 yeas later, God gave the last of the 11 a very significant amount of information. Between the two of those men’s writings, it’s not that hard to calculate a return year, season, and day. The clues and the data are there if you look for it. If you ask the Holy Spirit to help you find it … for the right reasons.
The year and season are relatively easy to know. The day is a bit trickier, but I think that it can be known as well. And we should then ask, “so what”? What difference does it make if we do know it? Well, knowing the year and the day, and therefore the geopolitical circumstances that are needed for the prophetic clock to start ticking again is to cooperate with His plan, in His time, in His way. It helps to have His perspective on what’s about to happen … and why.
I think that that most of the professional end times nuts have most of their eschatology 180 degrees off. I now realize … that’s what God wanted. And I know why God wanted those charlatans to be widely heard and so horribly off. It’ll be to our Father’s advantage. The second biggest rope a dope in world history. Just as He fooled Satan at the cross, He will fool the charlatans and their followers just as His prophetic clock resumes ticking. When it does, they’ll be both dumfounded and seen for the charlatans that they are. Then, in mass, the so-called Church will come to their senses, as the prodigal did, and know that they have been fooled … and they will return to the Father. For the first time ever, the Church will have real power.
Advantage God!
Unfortunately, Allan has counseled those who hear him to discount those who can know the date with accuracy. If his hearers heed his warning to run away, then they’ll miss out on a significant opportunity. But again, that seems to be what our Father planned for. Some of you understand this dilemma and have decided not to run away. Not to fear. Not to reject the evidence before it’s even allowed to be given. I say, don’t sprint away. Allow those who think they know when Jesus will return to make their case. Reject the false ones and seriously consider the others.
Please keep in mind that Jesus expected that those who led the Jews should have been able to calculate the time of His first coming. In advance, Jesus revealed the tragic consequences of not knowing, the 70 AD massacre. Not to mention His own needless murder. Understand that if the leaders had known His timing and accepted Him as their savior, there would have been no need for His murder.
And yet it is the senseless murder of the Landowner’s Son that is used to evidence His love and patience and grace and forgiveness of the workers of the vineyard.
Advantage God!
