What does one wear to such and event?

I was once falsely accused of a crime.  By the day of the trial, I understood that if I was found guilty, I would go straight from the courtroom to prison. What does one wear to such an event? Do I take my wallet?  Do I take my watch and ring?  What about the car keys and the house keys? What preparations for my estate would be necessary if I was to be incarcerated and unable to manage my business? I was forced to “plan for the worst”. 30 minutes… Read more What does one wear to such and event?

7 years from now …

When Jesus refused to bow to our adversary, the gravity of the situation became clear to our adversary and his minions. Not hard to figure out that Jesus had a 12 man strategy to “make disciples”.  If each man could replicate the Jesus in him into another man every 4 years, then do the math. The entire world population would have been won in less than a century.  But our adversary had a contingency plan already in place. Even before Jesus unexpectedly arrived, the adversary started a counterfeit religion to… Read more 7 years from now …

But God!

My Calvinistic friends have a great saying “but God”.  Says it all! As far as I can tell, God has “chosen” (my Calvinistic friends love that word) not to supernaturally intervene in mass like He did in the movie by Cecil B. DeMille.  My wife tells me of areas of the world where God sends dreams to people of Muslim or Hindu religions where they report that they see Jesus.  Other reports are of those same types of people groups hearing God speak to them.  He is drawing them closer… Read more But God!

“Myriads in Heaven”

I’m hopeful that by the end of the tribulation as much as half of the survivors will be “known” by our Father … and left behind (sheep … not goats) to populate the Millennial Kingdom.  The mention of “one taken and the other left” is a possible indicator of the ratio, but two is a small sample.  What if there were three women grinding at the mill?  Would one be taken and two left, or two taken and one left?  It would be helpful for God to have given us… Read more “Myriads in Heaven”

Does God need us?

Why does God use humans to share the message of His love? He Has Angels far more capable of communicating His thoughts than we humans?  He has bushes that burn … but are never consumed.  He has donkeys that speak the truth … when men won’t.  He has stones ready to cry out … on command.  Why would He need us to “proclaim His Gospel”? Consider that throughout the OT and the NT God has mostly used people to influence others to know Him.  God could have sent Jesus as… Read more Does God need us?

It’s Official!

The American “church” has many traditions that simply have no biblical basis.  While some of those traditions aren’t harmful, some are.  One that I’ve come up against is the non-biblical tradition of needing a license from the State to be “officially” married.  Today’s church foolishly conflates the State’s legal marital status, with the biblical concept of husband and wife.  As you consider the issue, you’ll be confronted with the fact that nowhere in the entirety of the bible are we told to get a license from the State.  We made… Read more It’s Official!
